Interesting way to pick up 30 millions users.

We’re excited to announce that WordPress.com is now the default blogging platform for Windows Live Spaces users. We’ve worked with our partners at Microsoft to create a simple migration service for Spaces bloggers to easily bring all their posts, comments, and photos to WordPress.com.

Over a six month period, beginning today, Windows Live Spaces users will have the option to move their blogs to WordPress.com… New Windows Live users will also be offered a WordPress.com blog when they choose to create a new blog.

Until Facebook opens up the API to get more data about likes, the only quantitative information you can pull out is the number of fans a page has. The good news though is that the new Graph API makes it super simple to do this.

That’s it. It’ll be nice when they allow you to pull out more relevant information, like who the fans are, etc., but hopefully that will come in time.

Interesting, what a charge facebook is making right now. It looks like they’re going to be releasing a ‘Subscribe to User’ feature:

This feature is being tested with a small percent of users. It lets people subscribe to friends and pages to receive notifications whenever the person they’ve subscribed to updates their status or posts new content (photos, videos, links, or notes).
